It has been quite a while since I put new work up on the site, and I do have a number of new paintings about which I will post, but first I have to acknowledge here a personal tragedy that has turned my life upside down. My dear wife Missy died unexpectedly two weeks ago, while exercising at our local athletic club. We were in our 40th year of marriage, were both looking forward to an upcoming walking trip from village to village in Spain, and she had just cut back to 3/4 time at her work in order to have more time to travel with me, do projects of her own, and begin to move toward retirement. We had spent our entire adult lives together, partners in every respect, and were happier than ever, joking regularly that since we got such an early start, we'd still be relatively young when we celebrated our fiftieth anniversary.
Most of the regular viewers of my site have already heard this news. The outpouring of love and support from family and friends far and wide has been extraordinary. I won't dwell on this heartbreaking loss here, but since she was not only the center of my life, but I have mentioned her regularly in posts on this site, I felt that I had to acknowledge it directly in this public forum.
Thank you for your thoughts, prayers, and continued interest and support.
